2010: Brothers Against All Odds

I ain’t dead (nah) I ain’t done (nah) I ain’t scared (of what!) I ain’t run (from who!) But still I stand (yeah) No matter what people here I am… (yeah) No matter what remember I ain’t break (never) I ain’t fold (never) They hate me more (so!) Yeah I know… (ha ha) Here I go (yeah) No matter what shawty here I go (ha ha) No matter what shawty T.I. It was appropriate for basketballista writer, Tracy Weissenberg ,  to design a piece about basketball player Tracy McGrady with T.I.'s lyrics from his song No Matter What  as an intro.  I feel that the lyrics really bring home the deep and righteous struggles of a Black man whether he's working to keep bread on the table or trying a get a GED.  No matter his field of action or environment (In this case it's professional basketball) it is this writer's opinion that there are common threads that connect the mind, heart, soul and spirit to a a powerful oneness.  That powerful oneness should serve as a source of

The President's Call to Support Vick's Turnaround: Political or Visionary?

Well as the year draws to a close I thought that everything that could have happen had happened.  Then once again, never say never or don't wait for the fat lady to start singing .  In learning that the President of the United States had called the employer of the Philadelphia Eagles professional football team to thank him for giving Michael Vick a second chance and to praise Vick's efforts, quite frankly, caught me by surprise.  At the same time I naturally became suspicious because everything that happens within the beltway appears to be about politics that often plays out to screw the constituencies that elected them in the first place. ...Forget your political allegiances or feelings about Michael Vick and take a step back to think about this. Even the most ardent believers in Vick couldn't have fathomed a turn

“I love Ann Coulter, but she’s wrong on that issue,” said LaSalvia. “I think she’s wrong on that particular issue and she thinks I’m wrong, but that doesn’t mean we’re not both conservatives and that we couldn’t have a good time together.” GOProud president Jimmy LaSalvia, political gay conservative group featured Ann Coulter as a keynote speaker during the group’s 2010 inaugural HomoCon event in New York City. As the general gay community celebrates a monumental decision by Congress to repeal the "Don't Ask, don't Tell" (DADT) military policy, a policy that prohibited gay people from openly expressing their gay preference in the military, the  victory not only exemplifies a movement that is resilient in its demand for cultural recognition but, at the same time--and in the real world, it reinforces how a renegade movement is 'having its cake and eating it too' when it comes to universal integrity. As the president of a powerful gay political group procla
