Who wants to be persecuted? Speaking the Truth in Illinois may be asking for it

"They’ve been in position to improve the Black community for decades but have done little to solve problems like gun violence and high unemployment that plague Chicago," added the longtime activist and former director of CeaseFire Illinois. Well the man may be on to something.  Of course, I confidently predict that he'll become a 'modern day' martyr for speaking an arguably unassailable truth.  I'm just wondering whether he will be okay with that, or will he dubious to this reality as one of the greatest dichotomies in the Christian world today (and in my opinion) differentiating between 'actual persecution' vs. 'selective persecution'.  Most of us would prefer the latter, especially when it can be construed as being able to least affect out ideals about success in this world.
