Great Diversions: Hurricanes, Wars, etc.

"The real hurricane chasers are the real masters of the art of diversion"

  • Some of the worst storms in American history included Hurricane Beulah in 1967, Hurricane Carla in 1961 and Tropical Storm Amelia in 1978. Of course, Hurricane Katrina may have trumped all of these as far as devastation and cost. Yet all storms have something in common, the power to divert people’s attention. Being raised in the great Southwest of Houston, I should know. Even though young, most people who I knew were not thinking about the War in Viet Nam, or high crime rates. We were all thinking about trying to stay alive as Hurricane Beulah approached.

Wars are probably the other most understated vice for mischief. It doesn’t matter whether it is an illegal war or a legal war. Once it gets started, it becomes one of the greatest vices for misdeeds by those in power. If President Bush hasn’t had the sense to do anything else during his Administration, through his genius of starting wars, he had effectively diverted people attention off of him onto the enemy. The New York Towers were a boon for deception and for criminal movement. He has prevented not only himself from being charged with war crimes, but he has saved a multitude of human assessors, including Vice President Cheney. His assistant, Liddy, being sentenced to jail was the greatest move in the art of diversion and was a peace offering. Plus, he never served any time. . Even as the House and Senate became run by a majority of democrats, they never had the balls to incriminate that lot in this Administration.

Because the art of diversion has been so effectively utilized during these last 8 years, only history can uncover the stupefying effect how natural and man-made events have saved a lot of sorry people from being judged. If anyone wants to commit a crime, these are some examples requisites:

Do it during a time of mass chaos (Even if you must create that chaos yourself).
  • Create mini-episodic fear tactics to keep the public off balance (Like creating a man-made disaster and calling it a natural disaster).
  • Create a mass epidemic and declare t incurable (Like HIV/AIDS).
  • Make sports a mass diversion (Just ask the President of Georgia about the Olympics even if he did master the art).
  • Start methodically putting agitators or prospective agitators in prison (Have you notice how black men are disappearing?)
  • Legally breach the privacy of millions (I had better not say anymore because ‘big brother’ is taking note.

If criminals, politicians, and powerful people can learn the art of mass diversion, they will continue to control others, rendering them hopeless and powerless in times when they should be vigilant in fighting against these evildoers. In the great scheme of things, the sad irony is that most criminals are utilizing the art called criminalization diversion. Too bad for Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, and the rest, sometimes you’ve been used to divert people’s attention. Enemies of the people must always be able to divert attention from there suspicious actions and themselves. The greatest manifestation of those mastering the art of diversion is that they aer able to continue suppressing others when bad things are happening. Gee, who do you know who can rob a bank and protest against abortions at the same time?

The truth of this article is self-evident as Hurricane Ike approaches dry land.
