Favors for Friends: The Colonel falls prey to the Nick and Barack power games?

By aggressively taking the lead in Libya, embattled President Sarkozy clearly hopes to shore up his political fortunes on the home front. Facing the worst approval ratings of any French president ever, Sarkozy is even at risk of being eliminated in the first round of the next presidential elections which are scheduled for April 2012. Current opinion polls have him finishing third after top-rated National Front leader Marine Le Pen and Socialist heavyweight and current IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn. Knowing full well that the vast majority of French voters support Operation Odyssey Dawn and view it as a welcome opportunity to reassert France’s leadership on the global stage, Sarkozy is desperately trying to cast himself in the tradition of General Charles de Gaulle.

Well it's beyond dispute that Colonel Qaddafi has been anything but gentle at times in dealing with his citizens.  For that, no man should be proud.  But, I must confess that I never thought it was this bad, referencing the pronouncements of world leaders, NATO, U.S. Politicians, and, of course, the mainstream media.  As a matter of fact, isn't this the same man that was removed from a terrorist country list by the U.S. a few years back?

One would wonder what exactly sparked this, seemingly, hasty move?

It is simply clear that France's Sarkozy took the lead in this military fiasco. Not.  For those of you who consider yourselves critical thinkers it shouldn't be hard for you to come up with a plethora of theories--Oil, hegemony, colonialism, deterrence.

I'll go for the latter, deterrence.  Deterrence from what?

I would theorize that Sarkozy saw himself losing the next election and his low poll ratings indicate this real possibility.  So it would be giving the voters a deterrence.  But, hold on.

Did you know that Western leaders,  (I didn't say Mid-Eastern leaders or even those on the the continent of Africa) where spines are are not comparable to their energy resources) can be considered a part of a secret society?  Yes, I mean it--like, Skull and Bones, Masons, etc.

This means that Sarkozy needed a some means to save his Presidency, and members of this club were willing to help.  So, the theory unfolds like this. Obama throws out a lifeline in the form of an unconstitutional  attack on Libya and a breach to the War Powers Act, to try to save a member in distress.  It doesn't matter that bewteen the both of them, there are probably about 10 ar fronts already.  In the secret club  it's call "It's My Turn" or Quid Pro Quo.  Also, you should know about cold and calculating.  Let's not be too innocent.

We will see whether it worked or not when the net polls are published.

Nothing personal Colonel Qaddafi . You see, that is a code that only the imperialist could understand.  I know that you don't think that its fair either, as other countries are being ravaged by dictators it seems much worst than yourself.  Their number did not come up, yet.  And, the greatest odds stacked against you at this time are world leaders who would seemingly do, by any means necessary, to continue a brand of worldly dictatorship.

So far, the gamble seems to have paid off. After France initiated the first air strikes against Gaddafi’s forces, the news was full of rebels waving tricolours and vowing that their firstborn would be named “Sarkozy”. . . In Paris, as elsewhere, foreign adventures have often been the last resort of the battered politician. If the missions fail, Sarkozy’s presidency will surely fail with them.
Anne-Elisabeth Moutet, "Sarkozy’s six wars will make or break him", The Telegraph

Now, this is only a theory.  But, would you agree, it's sounds compelling.  Doesn't it?
