A Complete Shift: Things are not the same

"Everything was going on as planned until one day the whole world shifted".  This is a proclamation many of us dare to make but the agent of inevitable change has crept in on a grand scale. The permanent ice in the arctic is now melting away which can be used as a euphemism for things thought permanent but are now passing away in many sectors of activity in American lives.  People like to think of the upheaval in the Middle East as an anomalous shift  that only happens in a million years, but the Middle East shifting sounds actually complements the profound changes taking place the word over. And, contrary to what people want to believe, it has nothing to do with democracy or the need for overthrowing a dictator, but more so to do with the effects of frightful anxiety.  People want change no matter what the outcome. However, even if they don't want change, the advent of necessary shifting, good or bad, is upon us.

However, just like any addict who has grown accustom to a habitual activity, most of us are in the first stage of acceptance which is denial.

Who would have thought that today in the world's largest economy that America would have such a large percentage of people who have earned 4-year college degrees and many graduate degrees would be having such a hard time finding a job?  Or, who would have thought that Americans would be having a harder time putting food on their tables than the Chinese?  Or, who would of thought that the rich would indeed become richer on the back of the poor while the meaning of the working class dissolves into netherworld?  Or, who would of thought that there would be a time when human rights would become a dying species?  Who would have thought?

These are but a few examples of how the world has changed.  But many changes to come are not temporary. These changes are having such a great impact on the world as we know it and it will never be the same.

Who would have thought the the American Cherokee would be discriminating against black whose ancestors were once their slaves? Yes, the same Indians who were practically wiped out by European settlers, and had so much stolen from them.

What about millions who are unemployed and millions more who are underemployed and then, millions more who will probably never find a job again?  Statements like these are the ones that signal that there has been a shift in how our society has changed, permanently--never to return to how some things were or use to be.

Everybody wanted to own their own house one day . . .

This is a truth that Americans are having the toughest time trying to wrap their arms around.  Just like any shift in our personal lives, collectively we are facing some of the greatest shifts in our collective culture. Liberty is not what it use to be.  Peace has no chance of sustenance anymore.  The weather is unpredictable and when storms are are predicted someone has to die because in today's world man don't know what to do anymore because of factors out of their control.

Everybody wanted to own their own house one day, but now it's shifted toward everyone is simply happy content to have a roof over their heads.

There was once upon a time when America was obliged to lean on their faith and to espouse the highest ground in the teachings of our faith.  If religion was considered an 'opium', and a symbol of caring about each other, now it has been permanently displaced by video games, sports, and entertainment and extreme selfishness.

Now it has quietly shifted to a world that has little remorse or patience for the those who are weak or over-matched.  The nation sets out not to spread the gospel but in  a distorted version of 'manifest destiny' is prone to kill and to assassinate without the slightest twitch or concern. Peace by itself is useless without weapons of mass destruction.  Individual lives are snuffed out under the pretext of collateral destruction.

Leaders are lying over and over again until the lie is accepted as the truth. The Media that once was the protector of our rights are now cheerleaders for destruction of the same.  Politicians have no shame.

There's something quite different today as Americans are fighting to grasp the fast changing of time.  No one has quite been able to succinctly define what is happening.  It's happening so quick as time seems to be moving faster and changing conditions are in perpetual motion.

Politicians have no shame.

The only barrier that remains is what is call 'denial'. As we have become addicted to how things use to be, it's going to be hard to adjust to a shifting reality-the sooner the better.  We must be able to discern the new seasons as Noah did and adjust, accordingly.  If there was ever a time that we needed God, then the time is now.

For those who haven't got it, you had better put on your running shoes and step into a 'new' world, and, act like you know.
